  • I just called to say, "agdhfskjfas" (a.k.a Drunk Dialing)  


    Drunk dialing...it seems to have become somewhat of a past time for some people.  Now I'm not knocking on people who do drunk dial.  Out of curiosity though, can someone explain to me the purpose of drunk dialing?  What exactly do you "talk" about? 


    They say that being drunk lowers your inhibitions and supposedly your true self shows itself.  If that's the case, aren't people concerned with what might come out of their mouths when they drunk dial?  Or can those words later be dismissed using alcohol as the culprit?


    This is just a guess on my part, but typically when someone is drunk dialing, isn't the recipient of the call usually sober?  If both people are drunk, I guess I can see it being funny and amusing but if a guy drunk dialed a sober girl and started spouting mumbo jumbo in a slurred and garbled voice, would the girl find it funny or a total turnoff?  If a girl drunk dialed a sober guy and started whining or acting stupid, would the guy find it cute or repulsive?


    To those that have drunk dialed:  Do you recall anything the next day?  Was there ever a time when you regretted having drunk dialed someone?


    To those that have received a drunk dial:  Were you sober at the time?  If so, did you find the conversation amusing or annoying?  Did someone ever drunk dial you and say something totally crazy or unexpected?


    As I said before, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with drunk dialing.  It's just that whenever I'm drunk, I always fall asleep and pass out.   The last thing on my mind is talking to another person.  I'm just wondering what I'm missing out on.

  • of course it is a bit annoying talking to someone who is intoxicated and I am def GUILTY of drunk dialing.  I seriously try not to carry around my cellie anymore when im drinking.  sooooo bad. <--- I AM! =P

    i used to be a baaaad drunk dialer...during a short period of time where my then bf and i were "on a break"...yes, a lot of times i didn't remember what was said, and i regretted 99.9% of those calls

    receiving drunk dials:  depends who they're from.  the ones that i get from my bf, i find endearing; the ones that i got before from my guy friends trying to proposition me..nasty. 

    *i've even been drunk (xanga) commented before....now THAT'S weird*

  • haha, this girl I know drunk-dials her parents.  I drunk-dialed an ex-bf once, never again. 

    yups, that's him in the elevators.  apparently he stares at all Asian peeps, but I'm the only one he's actually talked to...gross. 

  • If I'm tired, I don't feel like listening to drunk dialers.  I'll let them ramble but all they'll hear from me is silence.  But usually I find it pretty amusing.  At the least I'll smile...haha

  • drunk dialing is fun!!! its somewhat amuzing to wake someone up out of bed and talk jibberish to them while they're half awake and not comprending "drunk"

    getting drunk dialed on the other hand is NOT fun! getting woken up at all hours of the morning and trying to translate "drunk" while you're half conscious...   = /

  • i'm like you i get sleepy and pass out when i'm really drunk.  I have called some people while extremely buzzed and said stupid things but never when it was too late...i think that's annoying to get woken up at 3 or 4 in the morning cuz someone thought it was funny to drunk dial you.

    Anyways... drunk dialing... i used to call ex boyfriends (when i was single) and just act silly... like.. man.. i am so buzzed!  AHah!  those were the days...

    I have RECEIVED PLENTY of drunk calls... the last one i remember was from this oppa that got sad i was getting married, and he spilled his guts, telling me how he felt about me (it was a BIG deal, since he is a MAN's man)

    Now, i get drunk calls from my hubby, telling me that he loves me, and needs a ride!  AHAHA!

  • i think drunk dialing is a weakness that let's one excuse one's behavior because he/she was drunk.  why do people do it?  it never leaves a good impression.

    oh and i remember drunk dialing 2 times. once to my bf, and once to someone that was not. both times, no good.

    i get annoyed at certain gusy when they drunk dial, if they're my gfs, its okay hehe

  • alcohol is like testosterone juice for guys...it gives them the ability to tell a girl that he wants to bone her. 

    i hate it when the guy would call the next day and apologize for his uncalled for behavior.  i mean, what's the point?

  • HAHA THIS ENTRY IS SO FUNNY TO ME CUZ I DID IT LAST NIGHT!!!  and i have pics to prove it!  i think people do it because they're just drunk and you know drunktards are the SMARTEST people and have the most wisdom to spout off to everybody and everybody must listen.  anyways, it's a mystery why we do it!  it's FUN!

  • I drunk dial people all the time but i jus never remember. Finally a girl told me about our conversation and she found it hilarious and even told me that i wouldn't remember the next day.

  • i don't drunk dial. i usually pass out before i get a chance to. if i'm able to call up someone while being "drunk", then i'm not really drunk.

    i've recieved alot of drunk calls and some of them are really funny, while others (esp. from this one guy i know) were really annoying. i wanted to shoot him in the head for waking me up at 4-5 in the fucking morning.

    i've drunk dialed and of course i always regret it the next day.  i have no idea what i'm talkin about then, usually sayin i miss u or something like that.  one guy did tell me we had a 20 min convo and i have NO idea what we talked about, lol.  he wouldn't tell me, grrr

    it all depends on who's calling.  if you're even a bit interested in the caller, you wouldn't mind it all.

  • oh my..this happens to me all the time. i was wondering the same thing. why do people call when drunk? argh! to answer your question, it depends on the person..sometimes it's funny ..other times, it's annoying...one time,  i even lost respect for someone, but i let it go since he was drunk. hehe...

  • i find myself wanting to drunk dial, not coz i have anything to say or expect to hold an intelligible conversation, but just coz i want to hear his voice and the alcohol helps me muster the courage to make that call...

  • puahaha...i dun drunk dial anyone because i dun really like to get drunk (dun like to deal with the hangovers/throwing up/passing out...all that ish)
    but i have drunk(or buzzed?) dialed ppl when im really buzzed...its sooo funny...i have this one friend that i talk to everytime im buzzed either online or on the phone...he can always tell(that i've been drinking) online now because i cant type to save my life. haha.
    he also calls me when he's drunk or buzzed...i find it really amusing...unless im tired...then i just make up an excuse as to why i have to leave and he just goes "ok" and hangs up...he's too drunk to notice anywayz..hahaha
