  • Types


    Do you guys/girls have a certain "type" that you're attracted to physically?  You may not consciously realize it, but looking back do you notice a certain trend when it comes the type of person you seem to end up with?


    My gf used to tell me how I was totally not her type when we first started dating.  She liked guys that look like this:



    She didn't think she had a type but when I pointed out that her ex-bf had that "look", she realized maybe she did.  Of course I showed her the error of her ways and made her realize that I'm the shit. haha


    I never really thought I had a particular "type" myself but from what I've been told, I usually date skinny girls.  *shrug* 


    I remember back in college, a friend of mine always seemed to go for girls who were a little on the thick side.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, but considering he was stick skinny, I just thought it was kinda funny.  Ironically, in recent years he seems to have steered away from fat chicks and goes for thinner ones now.  Speaking of which, you ever notice couples where the girls is big and chunky and the guy is thin and scrawny?  Am I the only one that finds the sight to be a funny mismatch of sorts?


    Anyways, back on topic.  So do you think you have a certain type?  (Your type doesn't have to be limited to only people you've actually dated.  It could be people you find yourself attracted to as well.)

  • can you imagine the skinny guy and fat chick having sex?  at the condo i lived at, there was a couple like that.  she was an oaf and he was smaller and skinnier than me.  they recently had a baby too.  how awkward.

  • i noticed i go for the kinda dorky/geeky looking guys.  the metro looking guys..no.  i mean i do like my guy to get dressed up every now and then..but not all the time.  and he has to be taller.  i can't do guys shorter than me.  even the same height is pushing it.

  • Lean, on the verge of skinny (but not skinnier than me). And someone not more femme than I am. I kind of like the rockstar body minus the tight leather pants.

  • I don't really have a type. ..Other than the basics everyone should have in a partner... someone I feel comfortable with..someone who is compatible, and someone who makes me happy....

  • even tho everyone has certain type in their mind, they never really get that someone they had in mind...as shallow as it might sound, looks were a big thing when i was little...but i realized thats something thats so not important....my type is someone who loves and respects my parents as much as they love and respect me bc w/o them, i wouldnt be here....=)

  • people definitely have types...well MOST people.  when i know a friend for a while and see the list of people he/she has dated and do a comparison...it doesnt come immediately...but when breaking it down...i can usually figure out the type of person he/she generally goes for. 

  • hahha i totally have a type. alison and olivia have affirmed to me multiple times that i have a tendency to go for guys that are on the metro-er side and tend to be more skinny than not. i really really like guys that are well built.. but i guess when it comes down to it, i dont? haha.. the same goes with being tall. i really ideally want a tall guy (i.e. 5"10+ minimally.. 6 would be great), but lately, ive been dating 5'8 and 5'9 guys. strange huh? haaha..

  • i like tall, built guys.  yum.  but that's just the initial attraction.. however, lookin in my past, majority fit that mold.  ah well.

    Anyway. I dont really have a type just a preference. I'm very open overall.

  • its funny...i'm not quite sure how i can express verbally my type other than ...manly? oddly enough...my friends know me so well that they can spot my type better than I can...isnt that sad?

  • sometimes when you think of all these things bout your ideal type, but when loves come, u always end up with someone dat you never thought you will be with, ask ji!! hehehe

    girls like guy datz tall and build; guys like girl datz skinny but with a nice body, so typical!!

    almost everybody's type is the same. hot, smart, funny, charismatic, rich...blah blah blah.

    but not everybody can get that.

    so the myth of the 'type' comes about.

    my definition of 'type' is as follows.

    the best you can get with the assets you've been given.

    i.e. fat ugly chick can only get poor mexican immigrant selling flowers in last year's fubu gear.

    voila! my last dollar says the fat ugly chick is going around saying, "oh besides a whopper with extra cheese, my type is thuggish struggling mexican guy who keeps it real by selling flowers!"

  • oooh.. my type includes speaking french and being blond with blue eyes, tall-ish (5'10"), muscular, intelligent, fun, and athletic. but i'm pretty lenient if the guy is REALLY fun and makes me feel special.

    oh and bonus marks if he's a gymnast. ;)

  • i liked your comment but i have a couple of problems with it.  first of all im a big gurl and proud of it y is it weird to see a big gurl with a skinny guy or gurl for that matter.  you are entitled to think how you want but how would you like it if some said that your not there type cause your skinny.  you should really think about wat you say out your mouth......
